1992 Central Saint Martins graduate Giles Deacon presented his Spring 2012 Collection at London Fashion week a few days ago. There was an extreme use of silver + inspiration from the Beaton’s Symphony in Silver portrait of his sister Baba. Swan motif prints, headdresses, laser cut details, peplums, feathers, + metallic fabrics occurred throughout the collection. I wasn’t in love with the swan motifs, but amazingly tailored metallic suits, full skirted dresses, sheer swan top, + opulent gowns were among my favorites.

Fashion Fringe is a collective presentation of up + coming London talent + somewhat of a design competition founded back in 2004. Three juried finalists (Fyodor Golan, Heidi Leung, + Nabil El-Nayal) presented in the show + these four looks caught my eye. Love the touch of “pollen” on the first model’s knees…

Wedding cakes? Vintage party? Dolls + balloons? Schoolgirl ballerinas? You decide what the inspiration was here, but there’s no doubt Meadham Kirchhoff’s Spring 2012 RTW avante garde collection turned heads at London Fashion week a few days ago. The designers Edward + Benjamin studied design at Central Saint Martins + launched a menswear label after graduating called “Benjamin Kirchhoff”. Aside from the peculiar wigs, accesories, + makeup, I wouldn’t mind having a few of these looks in my closet. I’d have to bat my lashes like a doll + pile on the blush to pull it off…

Thanks to nymag.com I’ve just discovered male model Andrej Pejic. He’s gorgeous + easily mistaken for a girl, which works to his advantage because he models both mens + womenswear. The 6’2” Australian model is of Bosnian descent + has become somewhat of a star because of his androgyny + versatility.

This Just In Thursdays

Just got these little puppies in the mail… BCBG ‘Eddah’ bootie in New Slate. I’m not too sure how walkable they are, but I love them. Plus the toe of the shoe is enclosed, which I didn’t notice until I got them. It’s a nice touch in case I ever wear them in yucky weather. It was a hard choice between these + the trending Steve Madden ‘Annie’ taupe suede wedge bootie seen below. I’ve seen a lot of girls wearing them so I opted for something I haven’t seen yet, the BCBG’s.

I’m interested to see what crazy outfit I can come up with for my new booties… which do you like?
