rock out, don’t forget the versace
love this old issue of W highlighting music + fashion…
it seems like music + fashion have become interdependent from the celebrated threads seen in music videos, editorial spreads, + on the red carpet. even stylists like june ambrose have found fame + their start in the industry by dressing + styling musicians from rap to rock, + we all know too well that image is just about everything when your in the limelight these days. so many artists are talented and have the style to match, but i find it all too common that artists today have only semi-impressive talent, but their image + styling has taken them to the next level. examples (in my personal opinion) include rihanna + nicki minaj, in comparison to beyonce who has the incredible vocals and image to match. what is your opinion on the matter? do you think it’s okay that so many nearly medicore performers/vocalists have slipped through the cracks on account of good looks and personal stylists? while you think on that, take a look at some really talented people, who seem to have a knack for style as well (or at least the money to get it)…
