the search for the perfect…

being that i am a product + clothing junkie, i feel it’s only right for me to share my shopping experiences + products i’ve found/tried along the way. not to mention, the many deals i manage to to get at just about every place i go.

to start, i’ve been super obsessed with youtube beauty gurus as of late. that said, i was in search for the perfect products for my sometimes acne-prone face. i never wore much makeup… ever, but recently i’ve been really interested in makeup. I think it’s the artistry of it, + the semi-retired painter/drawer in me that appreciates how makeup can just transform the face + complete look of someone… much like fashion! here’s a look at 2 products i picked up 2 days ago (among the MANY MANY things i’ve bought over the past few weeks). you may have tried these, maybe not. But I will certainly get back to you with reviews. This is by no means a beauty blog, but I would like to pass on to you all the tricks i pick up that can enhance your beauty + fashion sense (NOT make you beautiful, you all already are)!

First up: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer $22… this is said to be just about the best concealer on the market, followed by perhaps Mac’s various concealers… I didn’t want something extremely light but something that more so matched my skin, so I could use it not only under my eyes, but also to cover blemishes. So far, so good. I definitely cringed at spending this much on concealer, but drug store ones just don’t cut it… they’re never ever dark enough + having a good concealer that lasts is seeming to really be worth it. I also hear a little goes a long way, so I’m hoping this lasts my a while.

Next: a brown girl’s best friend, MAC Sweet as Cocoa blush $20…I’ve heard about the millions of MAC blushes + the amazing things they could do. I have an orangish blush + a pinkish blush, but nothing warm/brown/close to my skin tone. I wanted a blush that could sort of contour my face, but still act as a blusher… so far, this is definitely it! Again, I hope the money proves to be worth it! You don’t find many blushes like this on the drugstore level…

Do you have any experience with these products or recommendations on other things to try? I would recommend, if you spend money on anything, spend it on foundation (unless you do Revlon ColorStay) + concealer. The blush isn’t a necessary splurge, unless you can’t find a suitable one for your skin tone in drug stores (like I couldn’t).

More of my goodies to come :)
